The Model 1640 offers proven capabilities for simultaneously lacing both ends of large stators. This Lacer can be configured as a simple operator-attended machine, or as a fully automated unattended system.

Standard features of this lacer include a self-contained recirculating oil lubrication system, adjustable speed motor & drive, rugged gear and cam actuators, programmable electronic cord tensioning, hot cord melting, upper needle counter balance and infinitely adjustable needle lift.

The microprocessor based Sequence Controller enables programming a variety of slot and stitching patterns. A rotary resolver provides accurate position and closed-loop speed control. A stepper motor is used for precise indexing of the stator during the lacing operation. Several ranges of front cams are available to accommodate various stator coil end turn heights.

High throughput rates are achieved with stitching speeds of up to 100/minute for large stators and 120/minute for smaller stators. Several options are available to further improve productivity, including fully automatic knot tying, vacuum cord end removal and load/unload systems.
